Product Manager – (Ethical) AND (OTC)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Salary: Negotiable

Purpose of role

  • To develop product support programs, product positioning and guiding field implementation to achieve budgeted targets and market share in Nigeria.
  • Responsible for protecting and driving product brand health (equity, perception and other brand health indicators) and performance (financial and market performance).

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop Marketing Plans for assigned products for consideration of Management
  • Define the implementation plans of the assigned brands.
  • Actively contribute to brand and business strategy for the organization.
  • Drive market requirements for current & future brands/line extensions by conducting market research and feasibility studies through in house team or external agencies.
  • Provide in-depth industry, market & competitive brand analysis through market research & surveys.
  • Ensure all local communication and promotion is aligned with the core brand strategy as provided by Central Marketing, ensuring consistent communication of the brand key messages to create a distinct product positioning.
  • Maintain a tracking and review system to track, control and improve implementation of agreed marketing programs.
  • Maintain records of all marketing activities, items and marketing spends. Track market share & Rank of the brand quarterly using external & internal analysis.
  • Provide inputs in developing Pricing and Packaging Strategies.
  • Proactively communicate with Senior Management on the plans & business performance of the assigned brands
  • Provide viable ideas for new products & extensions to strengthen the brand portfolio.
  • Actively drive New Products Development within allocated Business Unit of the Company

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7-8 years in Pharma/FMCG with initial experience in Sales and with minimum 2-4 years of experience in Marketing, either in (Ethical or OTC)
  • Ethical Medicine Candidate must be a Pharmacist
  • MBA (Marketing) will be added advantage
  • Balances multiple priorities with a sound commercial acumen.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Strong Analytical skills (strong with numbers).
  • Attention to detail and Good presentation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Good understanding of market research/ consumer insights terminologies and methodologies.
  • Must have good communication skills and fluent in the English language, good interpersonal relationship skills and able to work in a team.
